The UK has amended the immigration act: Turkey passport holders can apply for permanent residence
The European community association agreement (ECAA) signed the Ankara agreement in the Turkish capital on 12th September, 1963. The agreement aims to pave the way for Turkey to join the European economic community, while granting Turkish citizens many special rights. Turkish nationals were allowed to work or do business in the UK after the UK became a signatory country in 1973. The main applicant and the whole family can apply for permanent residence in the UK after 4 years live in UK.
The UK revised its immigration bill again on 6th July, 2018. It requiring Turkish nationals to apply for permanent residence with this visa after lived in the UK for 5 years. According to the European community association agreement, the United Kingdom will provide customized residence categories for Turkish nationals.
The Turkish national or business people apply for permanent residence in the UK. You should need:
1. Meet the language requirements and pass the English test of B1
2.Pass the common sense test of the UK
3.Non-criminal record
4. Work or live in the UK for five years without receiving a public (welfare) funds.
5. The total time to leave the UK every 12 months are not more than 180 days in the past 5 years.
6. The family member of the main application can also apply for permanent residence in the UK or visa extension, including: partner (husband, wife, civil partnership or a partner who has maintained a true relationship for more than 5 years before applying);
Children under the age of 21 or in special circumstances (including children born in the UK).
