At the ministerial meeting of the black and blue coalition government, a plan to increase Austria’s immigration quota was proposed. According to statistics from the ministry of the interior, the Austrian government provided 5,800 immigration quotas for residents of non-EU countries in 2017. This number will increase to 6,128 in 2018. According to the minister of the interior, Herbert Kick, the number of family reunions from non-EU countries has increased significantly from the 200 to 5220.
