New welfare policy in Greece, each newborn will receive a special subsidy of 2,000 euros!
The Greece parliament has voted that each newborn in Greece will receive a special subsidy of 2,000 euros and the subsidies does not require any application from 1st January, 2020 . This subsidy applies not only to Greeks, but also to foreigners!

Single child support allowance
For families with one or two children, the subsidy is based on the total family income and the number of dependent children. Each child receives subsidy of 40 euros per month.
Support for families with multiple children
Families with more children will receive more subsidies. Generally, mothers with more than 3 children do not need to work anymore. There are also other aspects of children subsidies, such as family childcare subsidies, baby-sitter subsidies, pre-adult family allowance, pre-school allowance.
Pregnant women subsidies
Pregnant women can apply for medical checkup allowance after pregnancy, all expenses from the first medical examination to the birth can be applied for free.
All of the above benefits apply to foreigners who have permanent residence status. Although there is no birth nationality policy in Greece, The children born in Greece can directly apply for citizenship if they are brought up to a certain age.
