Greece will implement preferential tax policy, a new age of real estate is coming soon!
On 7th December, the Greek parliament voted to pass a new tax law, which will bring a total of 1.2 billion euros in tax cuts to Greek families and businesses.
The Greek finance minister Staculas noted that the Greek government already reduced the "single property tax" between 10% to 30% in July of this year. On this basis, the new tax law was adopted to reduce the “single property tax” for low-income earners by another 23%, and the middle-income earners and high-income earners by another 16% and 7%.
According to earlier news, the new tax law also includes:
1. Reduce the income tax rate for taxpayers with an annual income of less than 10,000 euros from 22% to 9%;
2. Increase the tax exemption threshold for single-child families slightly, and for families with more children, the increase will be larger;
3. Reduce corporate income tax from 29% to 24%, and further reduce it to 20% by 2020;
4. Dividend tax will be reduced from 10% to 5%;
5. VAT on new buildings has been suspended for 3 years;
6. 40% tax discount for refurbishment or upgrades, up to 16,000 Euros.The new tax law not only benefits families and companies in Greece, also benefits investors who want to buy a house or set up a company in Greece.
