Green card, permanent residency, the PR, passport and citizenship

1. Immigration
The term immigration has become the high-frequent used word. The means of immigration is people who move to a foreign country, seeking to live, work and study.
Green Card = Permanent Residency = PR
Green card of America
It usually called the green card in America. It is a green coloured card. Some of the countries also refer to their permanent residence as a green card.

Permanent residence card
It is a different residency title for foreigners. Holding a permanent residence card means that the cardholder has permanent residency in the issuing country. The permanent residency offers free movement and long term stay in this country.

PR
The permanent residency is the short for PR.
So: Green Card = Permanent Residency Card = PR

2. Have a national passport means that you are citizens.
If you are citizens, you can get a passport from this country.

Passport
A passport is actually a travel document issued by a national government for citizens.

citizenship 
citizenship means: you are citizens in this country. You can enjoy the same policy and welfare.

Residence card (temporary residence permit)
It is a temporary document, you will be allowed to stay in the specific country for a limited period of time.

Permanent residence (green card, PR)
The permanent residency may be having more requirements before apply: stay requirement* and language requirement *, etc.
You will be eligible for naturalization if you meet certain requirements.

With the citizenship of a country, you can enjoy the welfare of citizens such as medical insurance, various types of subsidies and the voting right

3. Residency permit holder is still a citizen of the original country
Permanent residency means that you are still a citizen of the original country.
Permanent residence holders can enjoy the same policy and welfare such as education, work and medical care benefits except the voting right.
