2. A walk in the Grund in Luxembourg City
The Grund is one of the prettiest districts in Luxembourg City. Very pleasant to explore on foot, it is representative of the town of Luxembourg, capital of the country. Thanks to its scenery, sometimes surrounded by nature, sometimes urban, the district is very relaxing.. The small, historic, cobbled streets along the Alzette give this typical district all its charm. 5. Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland
Located in eastern Luxembourg, the “Little Luxembourg Switzerland”, also known as the Müllerthal, is a true natural jewel of the Grand Duchy. Highly appreciated for its beautiful landscape and green valleys, Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland is the ideal destination for lovers of walking and cycling in the heart of nature.
The Müllertrail, amongst other things, offers a 112-kilometre long circuit between rocks and forest, with magnificent panoramas. A real breath of nature in the country!
6. The Bock and Pétrusse casemates
Luxembourg is a city with Vauban fortifications! The “Casemates du Bock and de la Pétrusse ” are 23 km long underground galleries, crossing the old Luxembourg fortress complex. Thanks to their location and their strong historical past, the Casemates are a very interesting way to discover the history of Luxembourg in a new light. Thanks to the openings in the walls of the galleries dug into the rock, you can see all the facets of the architectural heritage. An exceptional and unconventional view of the city of Luxembourg.

7. The Mudam, Museum of Modern Art in Luxembourg
If you love art, the Mudam Museum of Modern Art is undoubtedly the ideal cultural place to visit. Its architecture and location are almost as surprising as the incredible collection of works on display on 3 floors.
Standing on the Kirchberg Plateau, in the Dräi Eechelen Park against the Thungen Fort, the Mudam enjoys a contemporary architecture that blends perfectly with the green environment in which it is located. Designed by the Sino-American architect Ieoh Ming Pei in 2006, the Mudam is considered the capital’s must-see museum.
Very popular, its collection is often renewed. The MUDAM offers the best of contemporary art from here and elsewhere, all disciplines combined. The museum offers tailor-made visits (by group, for families, schools or children). It is open from Wednesday to Friday from 11am to 8pm and from Saturday to Monday from 11am to 6pm. Don’t miss the Sunday brunch!
8. The “Parc merveilleux de Bettembourg” (Bettembourg’s Wonderful Park)
If you have children, the Parc Merveilleux de Bettembourg is the place to be for family outings. There, you will have the opportunity to enjoy family moments in a natural environment surrounded by animals and activities for children. You can observe monkeys, bats, birds, rodents, reptiles, … as many animals from the 5 continents.
You will find a mini-golf course, adventure circuits and many playgrounds.
Much more accessible than a zoo in financial matters, the Parc Merveilleux in Luxembourg is a place where children and parents can relax and have fun. Not to be missed!
9. A tour in Luxembourg City, UNESCO World Heritage Site
The city of Luxembourg, capital of the country Luxembourg, is also a must see place from the moment you arrive. Surprising with its different districts, each with their own specificities and amazing landscapes, Luxembourg is a city with many facets.
As you walk through Luxembourg City, you will be able to see industrial settings in the Hollerich district, do some luxury shopping in the beautiful streets of the Upper Town, enjoy the popular railway station district, but also take a walk in the specific atmosphere of the Grund or in the upmarket, residential areas of the Limpertsberg and finally go for a drink on the banks of the Clausen. You will also catch a glimpse of the many statues and historic buildings that together form the city’s rich heritage.
